| Yea... I blame it on monday.
1. Sitting in Physics, taking notes on Newtons Laws of Motion, when the teacher starts talking about doing an experiment in class to demonstrate. Not really focusing at this point, then suddenly she starts spinning a tennis ball around on a string. I instantly sat up and was like ! ball! ball! BALL! Thankfully I kept from saying anything out loud, but I amused myself. I hate it when I get furry like that sometimes. hahah.
2. I had to goto the library to get a book today. First time, aside for filming with Eric, that I have been in a Library for like... 5 years? Anyway, the book I needed was in downtown. Up at The Carnegie Main Library. For the not Pittsburgh people, thats like, where Pitt's campus, Carnegie Mellon, and I think like one other schools campus's all converge it seems. And I go there at like 3pm. All these preppy, well to do, trust fund kids seemed to be going in. Button down shirts, blazers, khaki's, abercrombie, you know. the "my outfit cost more than your house" people. It was preppy kid city. And I totally walk into this fancy library in camo pants, steel toed boots and a beat up racing t shirt, sporting the red fauxhawk.
I'm just a classy disaster sometimes. hahaha.

| I thought it'd be interesting to learn about the vision quality in people's fursuit heads. I'm not an expert at creating polls, so feel free to comment if I haven't covered everything! For the following poll: if you have more than one fursuit head, please pick the one that you use most often. If you don’t have one you use most often, please use the one with the best vision. Please do not choose a suit with ‘use your own’ eyes. If you use tear ducts to view through, that is fine Poll #1486469 Fursuit head vision
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 17 The first question refers to the drawing. In this drawing, your mask is on and the two white holes represent your eye-holes to the world. Would you say that the vision in your suit looks closest to? Keeping in mind fursuit heads generally have a reduced visibility, would you describe your vision in this head as: Before you received or completed this head, did you expect the vision would be: How satisfied are you with the vision in your head? Who is the maker of this fursuit head? How important is vision in a suit head for you? Which of the following best describes your opinion:

| First off, yes I was irked by the letter from a terrorist organization to unnamed furry convention. I laughed at the false statements in the letter to chairman of unnamed convention. This post is somewhat of a direct reaction, though I've skinned animals before for the fur. I'm in no way decent at tanning, I tend to negligently bruise the membrane which makes the fur fall off.
Three topics/questions I wish to ask which someone may have already performed.
1) leather wrist bands or guards, think leather wrist guards around roman times. Are there any issues with wearing such objects over faux fur? Slippage? Flattening of fur?
2) I've seen some of the most beautiful tanning in various places, is there an online source of fur from a tanner or someone who sells real animal fur? I don't even want to attempt tanning myself outside of the fleshing and salting, the chemicals required can burn your skin clear off.
3) I wouldn't want to ruin a perfect vacuumed animal, but is anyone here in to taxidermy which may know about using part of an animal on a fursuit like the nose? Obviously the animal would have to be at a size of relation to the person. Would I be able to make a cast from vacuumed animal parts?
For those who may not know about taxidermy. The vacuum process allows for all air to be removed, there are further steps afterwards. You see such animals after processing in museum displays, they keep the real nose/lips/mouth/etc, its not fake.

| At 9pm this evening, two programmes were on that featured bugs very heavily.
The first was 'Life' on BBC One, narrated by Sir David Attenborough. The second was 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!', presented by Ant & Dec.
I wonder which one got the highest ratings and whether any social comment could be made...

| At this time of year, Leeds always lays on a bit of a treat as the town square gets converted into a giant German Christmas market. There are a few fair rides like dodgems, a few stalls selling little trinkets and plushies and then loads and loads of German food stalls *wags*
I do enjoy the superiority of German food, particularly Bockwurst cooked on charcoal. So Wolfie dragged me down by the collar and we made a night of it, wandering around the traditional wooden German buildings that looked suspiciously like they had been brought in from the local B&Q. Speaking of which, most of the staff had been brought in from Carlisle. Talking in German did little to aid the speed of sausage delivery.
We met up with Patter and we had two sausages each - one Bockwurst, one Spicy Bockwurst. I also tried some marshmallow covered in chocolate, which was in the shape of a butt plug or a penis gag. The chocolate was in different types and it hid a gooey marshmallow centre. I went for the Zebra (white and milk chocolate over white marshmallow) and the Smurf (green chocolate over blue marshmallow). I got it all over my muzzle.
We also tried the Knobi Brot - some of the nicest garlic bread ever. It was crammed full of garlic and the cheese on top was just the right tanginess it complemented it perfectly. Wolfie had the salami one. I also grabbed a Nutella crepe pancake deeley and followed it with a nice bout of indigestion. And more chocolate.
We also indulged in loads of beer - both at the German Beer Market where it was a little disappointing and in Mr. Foley's, the excellent continental beer bar that served 6.3% Weihnachtsbier. We watched the rugby to the chanting of drunken morons and then I phoned Wolfybaby because I was drunk and thought it would be a good idea (but note I wasn't a moron - ah the delight of value-loaded statements and false perspective :P). Somehow, I managed to speak to her for 23 minutes but I have no idea what about. We were going to go to the bar in the German market but it was full and some scary "traditional" music was going on. It was too oompa-like for my liking.
We ended the day at a Wetherspoons where I indulged in Tuborg. It was nice, but not as nice as German beer. I split my Coke all over the floor.
Sunday was a relaxing day, watching Button Moon for three hours and sharing an excellent Chicken Tikka Masala with Wolfie and his folks. The colour was disconceringly pink though, even by my standards. Apart from that, a classic relaxing day. I really need to take more days like these... - Location:Work

| Results from the doc came in. Strep negative. That's good news, and bad. The good news is that it's NOT STREP YAY.
The bad news is that I don't know what it is. :P I hope it's just a cold. :P

| Well my meds are starting to make my stomach upset when I take it which sucks, nothing like being scared of throwing up what little you eat. Everything should still be ok, no blood or puss thats out of the ordinary. Still trying to get people over to hang out, but now that its a work day/week I doubt that will happen. Oh well my kittys still love cuddling up with me :). I found if I put 3 extra pillows on the couch its like Heaven :). - Mood:cheerful

| If this doesn't go here, feel free to delete mods. I recently discovered Furry connection and I thought about getting a good partial or some fursuit bits there. Now, I've seen most partials go for $600 and up, tails go for $60 and up, and handpaws go for $40 and up. When people sell these, do they really sell them for hundreds of dollars at a con or are they lowered? If they actually price them at hundreds of dollars, have they really sold before? | |

| I'm new to being a furry and i'm interested in learning how to make fursuits for fun. I'm also new to live journal and Fur Affinity, so any help would be nice. A first time guide would be great. | |

| What are people using as the see-through tear duct material on suits with glass eyes? Is it just color buckram, or some kind of screen? What do you all use?
Thanks! | |

| Hi all. Despite allegations to the contrary, it appears as though I'll be at FC again this year. As such, I'm looking for one more person to make up a 4-person room (one bed already taken up by 2 American friends). The room is available from Thursday night until Tuesday morning, and it'll be a fair split between everyone ($187.50 per person for the whole 5 nights).
Standard disclaimer applies: don't be a douche. :)
If anyone's interested, please drop me a PM. - Location:The Ghetto

| I am at plushlover 's place now. Will be leaving tomorrow to make the 12 hour drive home. The trip went well, but I didn't have time to post what I did during my trip. Will post on that later. I did like his plush collection and took some home that he was going to give away. Hope my drive home will go smoothly. - S | |

| So, Shadow and I are in the process of finishing up our first fursuit head. QUESTION...should we tape/fur the ears THEN fold them (they have wires in them so they can be straight or folded), or fold THEN tape/fur? Any help is appreciated. XD | |
